Welcome!The process of finding
the right creative environment is not always easy. Many artists,
including painters, photographers, writers, dancers, musicians and craft
workers, have found that special creative and supporting environment in
Brown County, Indiana. In fact, artists have flocked here for over
100 years. I know first hand as I am one of those artists.
I
moved to Brown County in 1971 and am a life long self-supporting artist
with early experiences in the areas of apparel design and
construction. I established Goat Hill Studio...Where Nature and Arts Meet in
1972 and opened it to the public in 2005. My work with fiber includes
weaving, designing and constructing leather accessories and paper
maker.
Presently a professional writer, Fine Art Photographer and Jewelry Designer, I have recently opened a new gallery where I market works of art by 15 local professional artists. I maintain Goat Hill Studio...Where Nature and Art Meet Art near my home and consult with artists about art marketing. I am passionate about music, especially music performed in Brown County!
Besides
lots of mostly joyful hard work, I know that the Brown County's
beautiful natural environment has continually inspired me and kept my
creative juices flowing thus contributing significantly to my successes
as an artist. I appreciate how very blessed I am!
I
hope to share this very special place with
others by offering opportunities to artists from outside our area to
experience Brown County by providing affordable and temporary
homes/studio space which I have personally created.
No
matter what artistic endeavors you are pursuing, you most likely will
be inspired by spending creative time in Brown County. If that is your
wish and dream, I would love to assist you!
My
artist only retreat cabins are available by the day, week, or
month..even longer! I can help you settle in here, assist you in
finding art/craft classes, great food and music.
